Our sessions are run during the day and evenings.

Workouts and Classes

Group Training

Our indoor and outdoor group training sessions are effective, functional, motivating, challenging and lots of fun! These sessions will Increase your fitness levels, tighten up your tummy, tone your arms and Legs, help you lose that ‘muffin top’, improve your energy levels and beat insomnia.

Group training is a systematic, dynamic and functional workout program designed by our personal trainer with the goal to increase muscle tone, muscle strength, cardiovascular fitness and core strength, exercises are explained and monitored for technique and safety, Workouts vary every time for maximum results minimum time and different exercise variations are offered according to the individuals fitness levels. Group training is like a personal training session shared with friends.

Circuit Training

Our circuit training combines resistance training with high intensity cardiovascular training. We use training tools like kettle bells, medicine balls, ropes, resistance bands, hurdles, dumbbells, TRX suspension system and agility ladders, Boxing gloves and kick pads. It is great fun and no prior boxing experience is required.

Circuit Training Benefits – Due to the lack of rest that circuit training demands, exercisers maintain elevated heart rates for the entire period of exercise. The combination of weight training and increased cardiovascular effort makes circuit training a beneficial type of cross training. The exerciser gains muscle through the resistance training. The exerciser increases his/her cardiovascular endurance during the slightly elevated heart rate that is maintained in between sets and throughout the overall program. The exerciser burns high amounts of calories during the high exertion periods of his/her sets.

Long Run Benefits – Circuit training is a type of interval training. Interval training is a great way to increase the body’s ability to burn calories when it is at rest. The exerciser’s heart rate goes up very high, returns to a lower, but still elevated, state, and then goes up very high again. At no point during circuit training does the heart rate return to its resting rate.

Circuit training, and interval training overall, increases the amount of oxygen that a person consumes post exercise, and therefore, increases the number of calories that a person burns throughout the day. It can be used to achieve an increase in lean body mass and decrease in weight. In one session, and therefore, exercisers do not need to work out every day.

Kettlebell / TRX

TRX Training offers coaches and fitness enthusiasts the opportunity to train movement in such unique ways. These drills that addressed the way people move and perform. You’ll begin to see how it is not just about training movement but correcting it as well!

Kettlebells offer some similar benefits in different ways. Teaching people how to move properly, while training angles and positions that are unfamiliar to most trainers it makes for a more resilient trainee. Kettlebell training teaches two primary foundational skills; the power of moving from the hips to spare the low back and the ability to lift overhead are two of the more simple yet powerful concepts in kettlebell training.

When looking to combine kettlebells and the TRX, we have a host of options from creating programs that utilize complimentary exercises to creating new drills that can reinforce the principles of proper movement skills. But first we must understand the goal of each of the drills within the program.

“Movement training” is more than just performing pulling, squatting, pressing and lunging. It is understanding that these patterns happen in more than one plane of motion and often while we are moving in one plane while resisting force in another.

This is where we can see the real benefit of integrating TRX Suspension Training with Kettlebells. We can use specific exercises to teach important principles in regards to proper lifting technique and integrating the body more efficiently, to create a workout that increases efficiency, reduces the risk of injury and improves our overall well being.

Strength For Life 50+ is an innovative program for individuals who are 50 years and over and interested in enhancing their physical health in a supported, enjoyable and social environment. The program uses weight training equipment to build strength, balance and flexibility. With increased strength and energy, you will soon see the benefits when dealing with daily tasks.

No matter what your age or fitness level, the instructors will provide a tailor made program to enhance your strength and suit your needs.

Our Trainers

Kirsten Cox Head Trainer

Kirsten has been in the fitness industry since 2008, where she has been running Influence Fitness. She is a Master Trainer in Certificate III & IV in fitness, qualified through the Australian Institute of Fitness, She is also a qualified TRX Trainer, qualified Punch Fit Boxing Trainer, qualified Kettlebell Instructor, certified in the seniors Strength for Life program & a current Senior First Aider.

Her passion has come from many years of personal experience in the gym and outdoor bootcamp training. Over these years she has competed in numerous body sculpturing competitions and placing 2nd in figure masters 3rd in figure novice. This has led her to become more in tune with her body seeing the results that can happen with discipline and training.

Kirsten has a huge love for training and working hard to improve her fitness and body shape especially after having 2 children. From her work and determination she has developed a passion about sharing her success and knowledge with others. She is very passionate about getting healthy from the inside out and winning the fight against obesity and curing childhood obesity, if we can teach ourselves benefits of eating right and exercising properly we can then pass that on to our children.

Tanya Martlow Group Fitness Instructor

Tanya is a qualified Master Trainer Level 1 (Certificate IV in Fitness) with the Australian Institute of Fitness.  In addition, she has qualifications in Strength For Life (Council of the Ageing), EMMA Leader Level 1 (Active Ageing), Better Balance (Council of the Ageing), Punchfit Trainer Level 1 with further training to instruct Fit Ball, TRX and Kettleball and is currently First Aid and CPR trained. 

Tanya has been a participant in the fitness industry for many years, she has over 35 years’ prior experience in the health and community service sector.  Tanya enjoys keeping fit and has been a long-term member of Influence Fitness.  She is very passionate about the health and wellbeing of others and strives to inspire and motivate those around her.

While Tanya enjoys working with people of all ages she has a particularly strong interest in keeping older adults active and her main focus at Influence Fitness is running the Strength For Life over 50s classes.
